Fall 2023 Swamp Sistas partnered with Zebra Youth on the Zebra La La Project, a two-part program. For eight weeks we met with and mentored LGBTQ+ youth who had expressed an interest in the arts, both performing and visual. At the end of the mentorship period, we hosted our first ever Zebra La La at The Renassaince Theatre and featured not only the Zebra Youth Troupe but many other talented artists. The Sunday afternoon affair was well attended and in the La La tradition, funds were raised for a community org, Zebra Youth.

Swamp Sistas La La at Fringe!

The 2023 Swamp Sistas La La at Orlando Fringe Fest featured a plethora of talent and raised funds for The Center Orlando.
Part one of a two-day concert event, uniting Central Florida Musicians to support Floridians affected by Hurricane Ian. Proceeds from the Blue Bamboo Festival for Hurricane Relief helped Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida provide disaster meals to the hardest-hit areas in our community.

Our first big event since the pandemic’s onset, the Cosmic Conjunction FunKtion, happened at Will’s Pub Compound on Sunday, March 13, 2022, when we’ll offer a diverse and entertaining experience for creative and social engagement, while providing networking, economic, promotional and performance opportunities for Central Florida artists.

Swamp Sistas Cosmic Conjunction Function at Will’s Pub Compound on March 13th, 2022, featured local musical performances of various genres, open jam sessions, interactive art, and improv comedy, on three separate stages from 4–9 PM. Artists and vendors exhibited wares in a market setting, and local community organizations were on hand to highlight services they provide to our residents.
